“'As a small charity, we found that setting up a Campaign on JustGiving was incredibly simple. It was easy to add images and to explain in the Story section what we were trying to achieve. We also liked that we could set a target so that our fundraisers had something to work towards and we could choose when the Campaign expired.” Thuwanna Thingi, Mogok Dhanna Trust
No one can predict when a natural disaster will occur but it’s imperative to act fast. The charity wanted to raise funds to help provide humanitarian support to the people of Myanmar who were affected by the severe flooding.
The charity quickly went about organising a fundraising bike event that their supporters could get behind. They set up a Campaign Page, so that there was one central place where their supporters could create Fundraising Pages and raise funds specifically for the people of Myanmar. The charity created an event for the bike ride on their Facebook page and asked their supporters to fundraise for the Campaign.
28 fundraisers signed up for the bike ride and raised over £7,800 for the charity to help victims of the Myanmar flooding, which surpassed the £7,000 target.
